Description: St. Karen’s Primary School and St Karen’s Montessori School, Patna, jointly hosted their Annual Concert 2016, aptly titled – ‘A Karenite Kaleidoscope’ on 3rd December 2016.
The programme was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest- Sr. Remia, SND, Principal, Hartman Girl’s High School, Kurji, Patna as well as the Director of the school Mr D.P.Galstaun, the Headmistress and other Principals and Vice Principals of the schools. The programme started with the lighting of the auspicious inaugural lamp followed by the resonance of tinkling bells and a beautiful rendition of the welcome song-‘Somewhere over the Rainbow & What a Wonderful World ’ by the children of Std. I and II of St. Karen’s Montessori School.
The event started with an unusual and captivating array of dance forms from across the world like the Tapdance, Ballet, Rock N Roll, Waltz, Line Dance and the Twist which showcased the dancing skills of the little ones from Nursery, Prep and UKG. It was a breath taking visual feast as with twinkling eyes and twinkling toes, they swayed to the foot-tapping numbers and floored the audience with their adorable performances.
The fairytale ‘Hansel and Gretel’ presented by the students of Std.I and II of St. Karen’s Montessori School was a modern adaptation of the original tale by the Brothers Grimm. It conveyed an important message for children of all ages which is…the importance of parental obedience.
The Land of ‘Rajasthan’ presented by the students of the Montessori school was a harmonious blend of music, rhythm and dance as the exciting train journey to Rajasthan took everyone through the myriad hues of this colourful state with its exotic folk music and dance, shifting shadows and endless, sand dunes, the scorching temperatures and severe water scarcity. The cute little ones from Nursery ,LKG and UKG really made the journey to Rajasthan a meaningful one as the jubilation when the rains come and the unique puppet dance as a means of entertainment as well as a means of spreading social awareness was conveyed through this presentation.
‘Animated Melodies’ presented by the Std.I and II children of St. Karen’s Primary School left the audience spell bound with their melodious renditions and enthralling performances as they took everyone on an enchanting ride through the world of some famous animated movies. Their captivating performance highlighted the joys of simple living, unity, being brave and enjoying life to the fullest.
The finale ‘Feel the Light’ was an extraordinary presentation by the children of St. Karen’s Primary School with its message of hope amidst the darkness of sorrow and turmoil all around.
