St. Karen’s Primary School , an entity of the St. Karen’s group of Institutions celebrated its Annual Sports Meet which was a 3-day Fest with the theme ‘Karenites in Harmony Protecting Nature’s Bounty’ to espouse the cause of protecting and saving animals. The Fest was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mrs. L. B. Galstaun Headmistress of St. Karen’s Primary School by the unfurling of the Sports flag to declare the Sports Extravaganza open. The initiation of the Fest started with the theme ‘Let’s Preserve Our Treasures Of The Deep, Down In The Deep Blue Sea’_ a dramatic presentation by the Std. 3 students of the marine fauna protesting the insensate pollution of their habitat. The Fun Races and Drills which were analogous to the theme; were innovative and skillfully presented by the students. The riveting drills Jelly Fish Jam and Under The Sea highlighted the spectacular world down in the deep blue sea. Fun Races like Pearl and Oyster, Let’s Go Fishing, Dress up the Mermaid, Pearly Shells, Mumble Jumble and Baby Shark thrilled the spectators as they cheered for the participants. The following day Std.2 students came up in support of the avifauna with the theme ‘Birds Are Our Treasure, Let’s Save Them For Pleasure’ The thematic presentation gave everyone a fascinating glimpse into the kaleidoscopic world of our feathered friends. Their amazing allure and tenacity even in the most adverse situations teaches us the importance of simplicity and hard work. The Peacock Drill and the Penguin Drill were awesome and breathtaking in their presentations. The Fun Races like Woodpecker Race, Build the nest, Balancing the egg, Ready to Fly, Feeding the baby and Dressing in Feathers were all related to the theme and had the spectators on edge as they watched the little birdies flapping towards the victory line. The Sports Extravaganza concluded with the theme ‘Have A Heart, Do Your Part Save Animals’. championing animal protection. A musical dramatization of the ‘Jungle Book’ depicting how our furry friends view man and go out of their way to live in perfect harmony following the simple rules of the jungle was presented by the tiny tots of Std-1. Drills and fun races relevant to the theme for the day were organized. The drills included Rumble in the Jungle and Our Furry Friends , two mesmerizing performances which kept the spectators glued to their seats. The Fun Races related to the theme included Pin the Tail, Run Rabbit Run, Frogs in the Pond, Kittens lost their Mittens , Build the Den and Naughty Monkeys. It was hilarious to watch the teeny-weeny jungle creatures getting organized and hopping and racing to the finish line as their parents cheered them on. The festivities at St. Karen’s Primary School ended with the Annual Function celebrating the joy of Christmas on 18th December 2021. The celebrations had ‘Christmas Is The Time For Love ’,as the underlying theme . The inaugural candle was lit by the Headmistress Mrs. L.B. Galstaun and other honored guests joined in to spread the warmth and glow of inner peace, joy and happiness with the parents. A play based on the acclaimed novella ‘A Christmas Carol’ was staged by the students. The children gyrated to some famous Christmas Carols and brought in the festivities of Christmas at St. Karen’s Primary School.
